wonderful, i love the letters in two languages and the big white smears, like someone was going to paint over it, took a few swipes with a brush and gave up :D

thanks! :D those are surely too much long walls to paint! in fact these are the metallic protections all around an old decayed building to be reconstructed, in the downtown area of Beirut, classified historical building.
so it's temporary, but is here for maybe 6 or more years. it had the time to decay and be "decorated"

:whisper: the arabic writing, it seems like the 3 last letters of my name حنان
can you see it ?

yes, i do! so it's n - a - n - reading from right to left?

yes. my name in arabic has only 4 letters, as the first "a" is only an accent.

in fact, it says Lebnan لبنان (whic means lebanon), but i sheated a little, for the -symbolic- fun of it.

i was going to say before, "permanent temporary" constructions happen everywhere :)

ah, leaving the "l" off, nice :D

the final "n" is very clear, i am looking at some arabic alphabet charts... ah, i see, the letters are made to touch as in english cursive - what you typed there looks like two characters, but i see them all now.

not trying to teach you arabic :D but i left off the L and the b (the e does not exist, accent too) )
and.... no, too complicated, not trying! ;)

i agree :D but one more question, is the tall stroke on the first letter an alif?

your stamps transliterate لبنان as "Liban"...

the first letter is an L, so, no.
Alif is the letter A (we give names to our letters, yes ) so Alif is the one before the last (between the two N's )

now you know it all! :D

why in french?
