all my thanks to Richard for the gift of his poems and his friendship over the years

Like poets writing sonnets or composers writing fugues, photographers Hanan Kazma Finge and Cyril Berthault-Jacquier  have confined themselves - in this case, to a three by three grid. But within those confines they find visual power and great expressive freedom, as images multiply and speak back and forth to one another. So the two artists themselves did from the spring of 2012 when they began this project, to the fall of that year when they completed it. Months of visual and verbal dialogue via e-mail reflected years of friendship, and came to speak of their lives, their emotions and their artistic partnership - spanning the distance between Hanan in Lebanon and Cyril in Brussels.

3 dead and 118 wounded, and some human parts who have to belong to someone.

i am sorry for the images, and i do realize that dA is not a political site. i just wanted to share.
...and don't ask me who did it.
I have an idea    :iconhightonight:

I want to make a new series, with your help.  I already started it, I have 3 diptychs, made in collaboration with dA friends.
It goes like this. You send me one of your self-portraits, and I use it to create a diptych, in association with one of my selfs
I even found a name for this series :   Di-a-Log   as the particular  diptych format evokes  an exchange between the 2 subjects.   The results I have so far are of intimate conversations. You -we- must not fear it, as we are only characters in this story I’m creating.

So please, if anyone is interested,  just send me one (or preferably many)  of  your auto-portraits :eager:

I only have 2 conditions here:
- That the portrait be unedited.   a texturized image,  a squared B&W  photo will not leave me much room to play!  I know it’s scary, (I personally am incapable of doing it) send them to me fresh out of the memory card. If you send  6 or 10, I’ll be happy!
- That no one gets mad or sad if I can’t do it. inspiration is such a fragile thing, I feel inspired today, I may not be tomorrow. So give me time and perhaps another try if it doesn’t work.   8-)

If you’re interested, send me a mail with your images in high resolution, but not more than 4 MB each please, my download speed is lower than you can imagine!  my mail :   privatedanser@gmail.com    and yes, danser with an S,  that’s how I thought it should be. :O

be warned, this will be a slow collaboration project, with no date limits or obligation of results.
if you still want to participate, i'm happy :iconwindanceplz: very happy !

something I'd like to share with you, a very old dream that i made come true.

my first exhibition :floating:
I showed 120 photos of different sizes.
the opening was Friday april 1.  it was...what can i say? :faint: just wonderful!
much presence, much appreciation. I was overwhelmed.

along with the exhibition, i signed my book : "In Solitude and Out of Control"
120 square pages of over 200 photos and some poems, made and offered to me by dear dA friends.

[link] posted in the scraps a composite image of that evening, to show you how it was.
I’m in the lower ones, you’ll recognize me, big smile at the table, and then, the shortest one in the middle of friends ;)

the book will only be sold in libraries, locally and in surrounding countries.  I wish I could sell it on line, but I discovered that the posting fees practically double the price.   i posted here a selection of pages.   [link]

this book is my baby :D  I open it every day, smell it, touch it, turn the pages… I'm in love.

i can't but mention Laura's terrible loss and tell her how much i care, how sad i was when i knew.
my thoughts are for you in those difficult days.
I dedicated this exhibition and the book to my brother. I now offer it to your mother too, Laura.

to finish on a happier note, as i promised you in the title...
I am deeply convinced none of this would have happened if it wasn’t for you, all of my dA friends.
I learned it all here;  I dared to experiment, to discover, to learn.  I made, unmade and remade and showed it first to you.

this first step, you made it happen.

thank you
